Companionship
A familiar face and unhurried conversation. We sit together, share coffee, play a hand of cards, or simply keep someone company through a long afternoon, so the house does not feel so quiet.

About us
Composed Hearts began with something simple: someone we loved needed help at home, and the help available felt either clinical or impersonal. So we built the alternative we wished we could have called.
We are a small home care and sitter service working only in Jefferson and St. Clair counties. That is on purpose. Being local means we can sit in a kitchen with your family, learn which mug is his, and be there on a Tuesday afternoon when the schedule shifts. We are not a national agency with a call center. You will know who is coming, and you will know how to reach us.
Every family starts the same way: a conversation about what is actually hard right now, with no obligation. Sometimes families need a few afternoons a week. Sometimes they need someone there overnight, and someone to pick up the groceries. Both are the work, and neither is a small thing.
More about how we work

“The work is not complicated. It is showing up, paying attention, and doing things the way this family does them.”
What we do
Home care and sitting is the hands-on everyday help. Concierge services are the running around that quietly piles up. Most families end up with some of both.
The everyday, in-the-house help: companionship, meals, routines, and someone there overnight.
A familiar face and unhurried conversation. We sit together, share coffee, play a hand of cards, or simply keep someone company through a long afternoon, so the house does not feel so quiet.
Simple, familiar meals cooked in your own kitchen, with your own recipes and dishes. We plan the week, cook, and clean up afterward, keeping an eye on what is in the pantry.
An afternoon, a full day, or a weekend. Step away to rest knowing someone patient and dependable is there, doing things the way your family does them.
Laundry, dishes, wiping counters, changing the bed, sorting the pile of mail. The everyday tidying that keeps a home feeling like itself.
The running around: errands, appointments, the calendar, and the small jobs nobody has time for.
Returns, the pharmacy counter, the post office, a gift for a grandchild. We run the errands that have become hard to get to.
A written list, a stocked pantry, and a ride to the appointment, with a companion along for the wait and the way home.
Keeping the calendar honest: appointments, family visits, deliveries, and the plumber who was supposed to come Tuesday.
Sorting the mail, finding the right phone number, sitting alongside for a call that needs a second set of ears. We help organize and take notes. We never make decisions for you.
How it works
A short form or a phone call. Tell us who needs help and what a hard day looks like right now.
A free, unhurried conversation. What is needed, what is not, what would actually make the week easier.
A simple care plan in plain words, then an introduction to the caregiver we think fits your family.
Peace of mind
Trust is not a promise on a website. It is built from small, repeated things: the same caregiver at the door, a phone call you did not have to chase, and a schedule that survived a bad week.
We match a family with a caregiver and keep that match. Familiarity is most of what makes care feel like care.
After a visit, you get a real update: what happened, what changed, what needs a decision. No silence, no vague summaries.
An afternoon a week, overnights, a weekend while you travel, or a call the morning of. We build around the family that exists.

Meal preparation in your own kitchen, with your own dishes, at a pace that is comfortable.
Where we serve
That is where we work, and we keep it that way on purpose, so the drive between families never costs anyone a visit. If you are just over the line, ask us anyway. We will tell you honestly.
